A Brief History Who We Are What We Believe Core Values Leadership Team
Home > About > Core Values

Core Values

  • GRACE – we desire to be a grace-filled community of believers who know all sin is forgiven, and foster an atmosphere free of legalism.
Eph 2:8-9  “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast.”
  • WORD - we purpose to build everything we do on the scriptures.  The Word of God is not seen simply as a rule book but as a guide to life and practice.
2Tim. 3:16-17 "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
  • SPIRIT - we depend on the direction, witness and empowerment of the Holy Spirit for effective ministry and are unashamedly a charismatic church.  We expect the presence of God among us and the use of spiritual gifts on a regular basis, including signs, wonders and healing.
Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
  • PRAYER - we believe God moves on our behalf and gives us direction as we look to Him in prayer.
Phil. 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
James 5:16 "The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.”
  • RELATIONSHIPS - we desire to be a community where there is genuine friendship with openness, honesty, forgiveness and acceptance of one another.
Luke 10:27 “Love your neighbor as yourself.'"
  • WORSHIP - we celebrate God’s grace and goodness in our lives, declaring the greatness and majesty of God and responding to Him with thankful hearts.
Rom. 12:1 "Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship.”
Ps. 100:2  “Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs.”
  • GENEROSITY - we believe God blesses his people for the purpose of extending His Kingdom.  We believe in giving generously to the local church and to others.
2 Cor. 9:8  “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”
Prov. 11:25 "A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed."
  • EVANGELISM - we purpose to share the gospel through our lifestyles in our city, nation, and in the nations of the world.
Matt. 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you;"
  • THE POOR - we take the words “Remember the poor” very seriously, being aware of those who have needs among us, in our community, and in other parts of the world.
Gal. 2:10 "All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do."
  • PARTICIPATION - we believe all members of the church body have a part to play, serving others according to the gifting and grace God has given to them.
Eph. 4:16 "From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work."
  • TEAM LEADERSHIP - we see clearly that the local church is led by a team of elders.  This team of qualified men have a responsibility to equip and release the church, both men and women, into the many and varied ministry and leadership roles that are so vital to a healthy church!
Acts 14:23 "So when they had appointed elders in every church, and prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed."
Eph. 4:16 "From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work."
  • APOSTLES & PROPHETS – we believe the church is built on Jesus Christ through the foundation laid by apostles and prophets.  We gladly receive recognized apostolic and prophetic ministries who serve where there is a recognition of these gifts and where appropriate authority is given by local leadership.
Eph. 2:20 "Having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone."
